Hi Mom!Who says you can't have fun on Mondays? The COLA Club answered phones on March 14 for the SCETV pledge drive. For 2 hours during "Antiques Roadshow", we fielded calls from all over the state. Every time there was a station break our members could be seen working hard! We were thanked on air by name many times, and Elliot represented us well in an on-air interview. We were able to show off our cool new blue t-shirts too!
Events on TapPollen may be busting out all over, but so are we! Check out the web site for these and other fantastic events.
Fri 4/15/2005 6:00PM The Monetta Drive-In is open, and we're going to head down there and take in a double-feature. Concessions are cheap and it's a nice, relaxing way to unwind after mailing off those taxes. If you just want to escape from it all instead, you can go...
...Backpacking Jones Gap to Caesars Head Sat 4/16/2005 7:00AM This will be backpacking teaching/training for those who want to learn and get outdoors and is another installment of backpacking for those who are going to the Wind River Range this summer. We will meet at Louise's studio and carpool up to the location at Caesars Head, SC. The trail is Moderate and about 8 miles long. This will be a good beginning trail. The camp will be by the Saluda River so we will have water.
Sun 4/24/2005 6:30PM Ever wanted to experience a Passover Seder? It is an evening of tradition and history. The last supper was a Passover Seder. We spend the evening re-telling the story of the exodus and explaining why we do certain rituals. This is a religious and cultural event.
Sat 5/7/2005 9:00AM Make your first jump a 120 MPH freefall TANDEM skydive! The classroom instruction takes approximately 30 minutes. When it is your turn to jump, you and your instructor board the aircraft together for the ride to an altitude of 14,000 ft (almost 3 miles above ground). After reaching the desired altitude, it is time to freefall with your instructor attached behind you as your personal guide. You will accelerate to over 120 miles per hour for up to 60 seconds. Then you can pull the ripcord and enjoy a breath taking five minute flight under your parachute built for two. Call 1-800-SKYDIVE to reserve your spot.
Deadlines We've got some great events coming up that have registration deadlines. If you're interested in any of these, sign up now!
