Take a Trip on Us!The COLA Club has a simple goal: 300 members by the end of the year. As an incentive to bring in new blood, we’re going to have a drawing for a 3 day/2 night vacation to your choice of one of the top resorts in the US! For every new member you bring to The COLA Club in December, your name will go into a drawing that will be held in January. For more information on the raffle and its available destinations, please send a Chicken Message to Tom or Louise. Events on TapWe've got so much going on the next few weeks you won't believe it! What You May Have Missed
Halloween Party Had a ghoulish time at the Halloween Party last night. We had some members come to the party in some really great costumes. It was really FUN! Brent did a fantastic job! Thank you for all the work, planning, decorating and cooking! We had guests visit! New Members! People we couldn't recognize! It was great to see members we hadn't seen in a while.
Meet and Great at La Pizza Cucina We had fun and the beer selection was appreciated. Greg and Jean-Louis decided on their favorite beer! We had an excellent time! A great crowd! Wonderful choices of pizza! I think I will try one of the wraps next time! AND the wine list....WOW!
Black Balsam Knob Our trip to Black Balsam Knob was absolutely THE Camping/hiking trip of the year! We loaded our backpacks with everything we needed and hiked up about a mile. Well, except for Andy & Kathy. They took the `scenic sea to mountain` route! We watched the Lunar Eclipse. Ooo! Ahh! We slept out under the Full Moon and awakened to the sunrise. Scott cooked some delicious Jambalaya for all of us! Saturday we hiked around some falls and got a lesson in Population - Producers, Consumers & ...US! Sunday we hiked over to Shining Rock! We saw the sunrise as we were leaving the Mountain! I know that backpacking into a Primitive area is quite a trip. Kathy Gattis was all new to this! She hiked every mile with us PLUS she and Andy took Sea route which added hours and lots of elevation! She may be sore today, but I think if you asked her, she enjoyed it! What a fantastic weekend! Let's do it again!!!
Green Rivers Day Hike We had a great time with the day hike on Sunday. Even though the trail was considered Billy Goat trail at one point it still wasn't too bad. The waterfalls were beautiful and we even saw some kayakers come down. What a gorgeous place! You guys need to start making time to get outside and see some of the sites we have nearby. The hike was tough going for about 20 minutes (which our guide forewarned us about) but it only made the trip more challenging and afterward it made me feel more confident in my hiking abilities. It was well worth it to see those beautiful falls. We had a fun group of people to play with. Cory was a great guide so we all knew we were in good hands. What a great workout! Can't wait for the next hike and what we will see on that one. What a great hike! It's challenging, but well worth the effort to reach the falls. It was fun to watch the courageous (crazy?) kayakers making their way down the waterfalls. I'm looking forward to the next hike.

Didja Hear?
On The Air The COLA Club has been running advertisements on the radio! If you check out B106 (that's 106.7 on your FM dial) during the "80's at 8" show, you'll get to hear testimonials as well as a cool jingle written by COLA Club members! Encourage your friends to listen, then get them to sign up!
In Concert COLA Club members were not just in attendance at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert on December 2...one was also on stage! Virginia Peninger was part of the group of local string musicians asked to perform. Ask anyone who attended and they'll tell you what a fantastic show it was. Way to go, Virginia!
