Supersize Saturday

March 27 is Supersize Saturday for The COLA Club.  We get off to an early start by meeting at the residence of Leslie and Dennis Stanley for a trip to historic Camden for the 2004 Carolina Cup! This day of horse racing is as known for the fancy spreads and attire as the races.  Space is filling up quick, so go here for more information!

If that's not enough for you, we're going to meet up with CHOA again, this time in Charlotte!  We'll leave from Stronghold and have dinner in Charlotte before going to the hockey game (Charlotte vs. Columbia) and then out for some bluesy nightlife.  Let's have a great turnout!  Interested?  Click here!

Meet the Members

Ever wonder what some of The COLA Club members are like in person?  We posed some interesting questions to some interesting members, and here's what they had to say:

Meet Pascale Fenton

Q: If you were having a dinner party and could invite three famous people, who would they be?

A: Picasso, Einstein & Elvis (he’s not dead !!)

Q: If you were to describe yourself as a Disney character, who would you be and why?

A: I identify more with Looney Tunes characters – definitely Bugs Bunny. He’s from Brooklyn, NY. Need I say more?

Q: When the phone and the doorbell ring at the same time, which do you answer first?

A: I’m wireless, so I typically answer the phone on my way to answering the door. Yes, I’m quite the multi-tasker.

Q: What would you choose as your theme song?

A: You Gotta Be – by Desiré

Meet Scott Lacy

Q: If you could break all the rules, which one would you start with?

A: I would get paid without working instead of working my butt off without getting paid.

Q: If you had one hour today with absolutely nothing to do, what would you do?

A: Spend it on top of a mountain.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

A: A tiny group of islands forming the country of Palau.

Q: What is your philosophy on life?

A: Don't be on your death bed saying, "I wish I had tried..."

Meet Kathy Gattis

Q: Which disappears faster in your home, ice cream or M&Ms?

A: I have a sweet tooth that defies all will power. I don’t keep either one in the house.

Q: How many degrees are you separated from Kevin Bacon?

A: 3.  I had a brief conversation w/ Greg Allman who was in “Rush” with some chic that was in “In the Cut” with Kevin Bacon.

Q: What are the last few albums or cd’s you listened to?

A: Charlatan’s UK-Wonderland, Lou Reed, Rock n Roll Animal, The Strokes-first album, Room Full of Blues-Turn it on, Turn it up.

Q: If you were having a dinner party and could invite three famous people, who would they be?

A:  Benjamin Franklin, Catherine the Great and Elvis.

Meet Brent Chapman

Q: If you could break all the rules, which one would you start with?

A: The Law of Gravity.

Q: If you could either learn to fly a plane or to scuba dive, which would you choose?

A: Fly a plane.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

A: Italy.

Q: If you had one hour today with absolutely nothing to do, what would you do?

A: Sit outside and relax, preferably in the mountains.
