Events on Tap The new year started off hot and so are we. Check out these and other awesome events! Sat 1/22/05 7:00pm This is scheduled as a joint event with CHOA. Last year we went to Charlotte and enjoyed their hospitality (and the Inferno won!). This year we’re returning the favor (except for the game, of course).
Elliot says: Let me start by saying that CHOA members are wimps! I don’t know what happened to most of them after the hockey game, but they sure didn’t go to Double Door. Either they were too tired or too despondent after watching the 2-time Southern Division Champion Inferno give the (6th place!) Checkers a whuppin`. For pre-game we met at Jackelope’s for some mixing, mingling, and fried pickles. I don’t know that I’d try them again, but they are definitely a different taste. It was a great evening, everyone enjoyed themselves (even with the Stadium Seat Police in full force), and Delta Moon, who played at Double Door, rocked the house. I have it on good authority that no mannequins were harmed during the show.
Fri 1/28/2005 2:00PM It’s not too late to join the group at Wolf Laurel Ski Resort, and we’ve got a great deal on the rooms. Now all they need is a little more snow…
Sat 1/29/05 8:30am Going on the Wind River Range trip this summer? Want to learn the how-to’s of backpacking? Come out to Harbison State Forest and pick up some pointers while hiking over hill and dale.
Sun 1/30/05 2:00pm This 3-mile section of the Palmetto Trail is a challenge for hikers and bikers. If you tackled the 7.5-mile Capital City section, this will be a piece of cake, which you can eat at a nearby restaurant when you finish the trip.
Louise says: We finished our first Section of the Palmetto Trail Saturday! We went 7.5 miles from Riverfront Park to Ft. Jackson. The trail is 425 miles from ocean to mountains. We only have 417.5 to go! I have a plan to finish it by September! Everyone that goes on the hikes/walks/rides will get a frameable map with finished sections on it! This is going to be a fun way to see SC!
3rd Annual Un-Valentine's Day Party Sat 2/12/05 7:00pm Join your fellow COLA Club members in celebrating singledom for a holiday not designed for those who fly solo. If you’ve not had Jennifer’s cooking yet, you’d better come just for that.
Fri 2/25/05 7:00am Get ready for a full slate of summer fun by spending the weekend at a luxurious 19th-century wilderness lodge accessible only by foot, mountain bike, or horseback.
Louise says: Our trip to Charit Creek was fabulous!! It was cold, but we were in the lodge with a wood burning stove. We cooked on it & we were oh so warm! The ice formations were absolutely worth the hike in – 0.8 Miles. There’s something for everyone! Fields, creeks, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing...you name it.
