What Happened?
Here's what your fellow COLA Club members had to say about some of the events last month:
Super Bowl Party The Game was the Best I’ve seen in a long time! The party was, as always at Brent’s, really nice! Fun, Comfortable, Welcoming! Super Bowl party was a lot of fun! Thanks Brent, everything was great!!
Solitary Man Nice turnout at Meritage to see Casey in what may have been his farewell performance. The man got skillz. Seemed like half our crowd were friends of Christy and at least a few of them may be members soon. Somebody better learn how to play `Superfreak` so Tom can sing along, cause Casey refuses (smart man). And I’d like to add that Elliot did a good job in preventing Tom form singing along and out loud! Way to go Elliot! No pun intended Tom, but Casey’s voice sounded better!
Swim with the Manatees We drove down to Charleston Friday night, ate at a fantastic restaurant, got up really early Saturday, were late arriving at the base because we got sent to the wrong gate, slept a good bit of the way down to Florida, went to Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park where we got to see manatees, alligators, bobcats, panthers, snakes, and other wildlife you don’t see in SC. They had an underwater observatory where you could see schools of fish as well as the manatees! For dinner we went to what must be the most popular seafood restaurant in town. Food was excellent, and we escaped before the karaoke started. Sunday we were up at the crack of 7 to get our gear and hop on a boat to the springs that feed Crystal River. Everyone climbed in the water and lo and behold, here were dozens of manatees swimming right to you. You could scratch their backs and if you did a good job, they’d roll over so you could scratch their bellies. This was a great trip, and we’ll figure out how to do it again real soon! It was an incredible experience to swim with these gentle giants.
