Calling All Couch Potatoes!

We've drawn interest from The State, now we're headed for television!  On March 14 we'll be manning the phones during SCETV's membership drive.  We'll be on the air from 7:00pm until about 9:15pm, and we'll even get an on-camera interview!  If you can't be there to help, then tell a friend or two about it.

Recent History

Palmetto Trail - Lynches Woods Section

7 members, 1 potential member and 2 dogs went hiking!  It was fun... the map was not too accurate, but Louise and Scott managed to read it and take us through wonderful scenes in the area. For those who want to hike this trail, there is a restaurant very close by.  By the way were the two volunteers successful in finding the treasure?

Salsa Dancing

We had a great time Salsa dancing last night. Kim was able to give everybody a few pointers so we could refresh our Salsa skills. Raki even came out and showed us his dancing skills. Had a blast.

Smorgasbord

The Smorgasboard was a diner's delight! WOW! We started off with Little Smokies in Homemade HOT Pepper Jelly. Thai Salad. Yummy lasagna. Karla made a wonderful Spaetzle & spargel. Elliot labored over ...knish? Tom made a dessert famous from New Orleans. We missed it at Mr. Friendly's Mardi Gras so he treated us to it! I believe he made 3 batches of it!! We couldn't get enough!! Perfect!!!

Bowling

Well that was a lot of fun for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Max showed off a new, unorthodox technique for bowling that I'm sure will be all the rage in a few years. Kim started slow but finished strong. Elliot coined the term "chicken" for going strike-strike-nine. Louise rediscovered her happy dance, and we may have gained a new member out of it all!

Charit Creek Lodge

This trip to Charit Creek was so good! The company was great! The weather perfect! We had a Full Moon and clear Sky! The hike exhilarating! Watching Scott and Glenn cook full meals was fun. Kim and I ate Ramen. Hers was real, mine fake! We are practicing meals for the Winds Trip! We hiked our feet off and then went and soaked them in freezing cold, numbing water! Ahh! A Perfect Weekend! Life is Good!

Meet n Greet

Thu 3/17/2005 5:30PM

Backpacking Weekend

Fri 3/18/2005 12:00PM

Lets go backpacking. This is one of the scheduled training/teaching trips for those interested in backpacking. It will be in conjunction with Tom's USC class trip. We will select a trail, based on those participating, in the Black Balsam area of Pisgah National Forest. This is a beautiful area. Please plan for any weather as you never know this time of year. Let me know upon sign-up if you need gear or a buddy and we'll make it work.

A Revealing Look at Charleston

Sat 3/26/2005 9:00AM

Foundations of Fashion - Two Centuries of Undergarments is a special exhibit at the Charleston Museum. This is part one of three exhibits, and it deals with undergarments above the waist. From form enhancing corsets to form releasing teddies, we will see how the upper body was shaped to create the fashion scene from the 18th century to present. After the exhibit, we will have lunch in downtown before returning to Columbia.
