What Happened?

Here's what your fellow COLA Club members had to say about some of the events last month:

Passover Seder

Jen did a beautiful job for the Passover! Everything was wonderful! It truly was a feast! Jen continues to impress me with her vast abilities! She cooked and cooked and cooked! And it was all delicious!! Outstanding evening! And ... inquiring minds want to know... how do you make square hard boiled eggs?

Opening Night

Okay, so it was a little cold for baseball, but we had a great time. The Bombers won handily, and Greensboro provided frequent moments of hilarity with shoddy pitching and fielding. Cristy says the $10 ticket plus all-you-can-eat-buffet is well worth the price. We'll do another game later in the season when the weather is warmer...like July.

Day Hike

The Day Hike to Crowder's Mountain was a great time. The weather was perfect! We hiked up and up and up some more! The view was beautiful! When we got to the outlook point there were lots of people. Some climbing, some hiking, and families having lunch. We ate lunch there and headed down. We were very careful to watch Ronnie, the Labrador Retriever. It's difficult to keep him out of the water. We decided we were glad to do the red route and not the white going up. We made note of that for the next time.

Pizza & Play

Aaaahhh pizza. Gotta love good pizza, and that's just what we had. A quick stop at the new Marble Slab in the Vista, and we had the answer to the probing question of the evening - will they let you take ice cream into Trustus? The answer, ladies and gentlemen, is yes.

Art Show

This art show was wonderful! We had a good turn-out from Cola Club! I had never seen Alicia's art before this! I picked out some favorites. I think she will work on this style! It was such fun!

Meet the Members

Ever wonder what some of The COLA Club members are like in person?  We posed some interesting questions to some interesting members, and here's what they had to say:

Brenda Sawyers

Q: If you could break all the rules, which one would you start with?

Must eat dessert last.

Q: What?s in your CD player right now?

New CD from Brittany Spears.

Q: What?s the last movie you saw?  Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Kill Bill Vol 2 - Thumbs Up

Allycia Coleman

Q: Which disappears faster in your home, ice cream or M&Ms?

Ice cream disappears faster in my house.

Q: What would you choose as your theme song?

I'm not sure what my theme song would be, but it would be something upbeat that you could dance to. :)

Q: If you were to describe yourself as a Disney character, who would you be and why?

If I were a Disney Character, I'd be Meg in Hercules.  She's sarcastic, but sensitive.

Elliot Echlov

Q: If you were having a dinner party and could invite three famous people, who would they be?

Winston Churchill, Mark Twain, and Homer Simpson.  That way I'd have two primo raconteurs and two drunks, plus me.

Q: How many degrees are you separated from Kevin Bacon?

3.  I was a grammar school classmate of Kris Eivers, who was in "The Believer" with Theresa Russell, who was in "Wild Things" with Kevin Bacon.

Q: What is your philosophy on life?

The more you put into life, the more you get out of it.

Kristin Diehl

Q: If you had one hour today with absolutely nothing to do, what would you do?

Sit in the sun.

Q: If you could either learn to fly a plane or to scuba dive, which would you choose?

I already scuba dive. so I guess fly a plane.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

The South Pacific.

We will find a place for you!

Backpacking/Camping

Fri, 6/11/2004 5:00PM

Come join us for another adventure in the Black Balsam Knob area of Pisgah National Forest of NC. Last year we had a great time. Beautiful views. We will meet at 5:00pm (times may be adjusted to accommodate people) Friday at the parking area and hike in. It is approx one mile up to the summit, but well worth it. Black Balsam is the highest point around with a 360 degree view from your tent. Do not worry if you're not a backpacker.

There will be 4-6 people per boat. There will be diving, snorkeling, swimming, sailing, partying, sunning on a deserted beach and much, much more fun. Ships Ahoy!
