What Happened?
Didja miss the last backpacking trip? Here's what you missed:
Our backpacking trip was most excellent! Perfect in every way! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. The company was fun, encouraging & entertaining. Our food was very good! The trail was difficult in parts. Scott did a very good job! He was helpful, informative and everyone of us learned. This trip was everything and then some that Scott purposed it to be. If you are interested in trail hikes or backpacking, you will want to be on the next one!
Events on TapThe calendar is filling up this summer! Check out the web site for these and other fantastic events.
Sat 5/14/2005 10:00AM It's time for Market Days at Historic Camden, and the semi-annual plant sale! From 8am until 1pm there will be a collection of antique, crafts, and some just plain junk dealers for shopping and perusing. And there's the plant booth, where Pam will with the Plant Ladies, those charming and knowledgeable Southern ladies who could stick a piece of firewood in the ground and get it to grow.
Sat 5/21/2005 11:00AM It's been a long time! Let's do Paintball again! If we have at least 6 players, they will waive the rental fee for our gear. Wear layers of old dark cloths or layers of camouflage, good high tops or hiking boots. Paintball paint does wash out easily, but can leave a stain on light colors. Bring a cooler for beverage/ snack. This is a total blast! I will see you there!
Mon 5/23/2005 6:30PM Learn how to backpack, hike the wilderness, carry your own gear, how to camp & be environmentally safe, what clothes to wear, food to eat, cooking. This is the last of 3 Monday sessions.
Fri 5/27/2005 9:00PM Come for the first weekend of summer camping. We will camp at the favorite spot in the area, Turkey Creek. Very laid back. This is 15 minutes from the Nantahala Outdoor Center and 45 minutes from Smokey Mountain National Park. There is lots of hiking, biking, kayaking, funyaks, tubing in the rivers, etc. You can rent tubes for $3.00 all day. Price for campsite is $7.00 per day for adults and $4.00 per day for children 16 and under. Plus $3.00 per day per vehicle. Since this is a holiday weekend there is a 3 day minimum so you must pay for 3 days no matter what.
Welcome to the Pack!Guess who's back? Back again! David Long
