Recent HistoryTurkey Creek Camping It was absolutely fantastic weather! We did a 9 mile hike on Saturday. Part of the hike was on the Appalachian Trail. Saw a wonderful view from the fire tower! Our Kayaking Class members went for their first river run of the weekend. Sunday was water day! We had 5 kayakers and 6 duckies out there! It’s always fun on the river in the mountains. To experience it two days in a row is such an adventure. It was really fun to run the river with the kayakers. It’s funny though, the kayakers seemed to want to swim more than kayak. Go figure! I can’t wait for the Deep Creep camping trip where there is so much to do. But those that know me will know I’ll be paddling or eating most of the time there. You don’t want to miss the next trip.
Olympics Party From the ceremonial lighting and running of the (tiki) torch to fencing (with pool noodles) to the baklava and spanakopita, everyone was entertained, entertaining, and well-fed. If you didn't attend, shame on you for passing up Jen`s cooking.
Great dance class! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Karla! All the dance classes were wonderful and Karla is a great teacher. I can now confidently get on the dance floor now after only a couple drinks instead of several. We all had such fun! And learned a TON! Karla gives us not only a good class, but some inside scoop... How to ask for the dance.
Peachtree Hike For those who missed the Peachtree Hike - We did have a group of us out there. We had about 10 people to brave the weather for the hike. We had a good time hiking and seeing the limestone formations. After the hike, we went to the Village Idiot for beer and pizza.
